Tampico Madero FC Makes History and Achieves FEMEXFUT Standards With New LED System

“The installation of the new luminaries is a great step of our institution towards the First Division of Mexican Soccer, allowing us to comply with the requirements requested by the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) in terms of lighting. This progress is not only important for our team, but for the entire Ascenso BBVA MX industry that is strengthened through actions to improve sports infrastructure.”

The Tampico Madero Football Club will enjoy high-level lighting in its stadium after installing the innovative Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system from Musco Lighting. The ‘Jaibos’ have become the first team in the Liga Ascenso MX and one of the first professional teams in Latin America to have LED lights.

The new system will not only provide an enhanced entertainment experience, it also features precise light control that directs the lighting onto the pitch, maximizing energy savings and helping the club meet the lighting standards of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FEMEXFUT).

The FEMEXFUT now asks that the teams in the Liga Ascenso MX maintain lighting with a minimum of 800 lux average. The Tamaulipas Stadium previously had 120 metal halide luminaires with 361 lux. The new system has 68 LED luminaires and 814 lux, reducing energy consumption by 48 percent and increasing the amount of light on the pitch.

“We are very proud to have worked with Los Jaibos to install a TLC for LED lighting system that meets what they were looking for,” said Bryan McNulty, assistant international sales director for Musco. “The stadium now has more light and less energy consumption, meeting the requirements of the league and giving its fans a quality of lighting that no other second division team in Latin America can boast.”

The Musco system ensures reliable performance with structural, electrical and lighting components designed as a complete system.

In addition, the system includes a full 10-year warranty that covers parts and labor, eliminating all costs associated with maintenance.
